Hughes Awarded International Safety Award 2020 from British Safety Council

Hughes Safety Showers has won an International Safety Award with a Merit from the British Safety Council in recognition of its commitment to keeping its workers and workplaces healthy and safe during the 2019 calendar year.

Hughes is one of 250 organisations to win a Merit in the 2020 International Safety Awards.

Now in their 62nd year, the International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations from around the world which have demonstrated to the satisfaction of the scheme’s independent judges their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health during the previous calendar year. The awards also recognise organisations that have shown commitment to wellbeing and mental health at work.

In 2020, 509 organisations won an International Safety Award. They span all sectors and are drawn from the United Kingdom, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. 87 organisations were awarded a Distinction, 250 organisations were awarded a Merit and 172 organisations achieved a Pass.

Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, congratulated Hughes on their success in winning an International Safety Award 2020 with a Merit: "The British Safety Council commends Hughes Safety Showers on their achievement.
